I suppose that would be true concerning my neighbor’s window. Since it is God’s window in which we have broken, then we can not apply the human’s concept of justice to that of our Lord.
[SIGN]Colossians 2:14
having wiped out the handwriting of requirements that was against us, which was contrary to us. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.[/SIGN]
There are other scriptures, however this one clearly takes away any punishment which is still do us as sinners.
How about
[SIGN]Psalm 103:12
As far as the east is from the west,So far has He removed our transgressions from us.[/SIGN]
If our sins (transgressions) are removed from us how can we be held accountable for them?
The whole idea of God saying I forgive you but now you must make attonement for the sin is out side the scope of forgive.
[SIGN]Hebrews 8:12
" FOR I WILL BE MERCIFUL TO THEIR INIQUITIES, AND I WILL REMEMBER THEIR SINS NO MORE."[/SIGN]
If God doesn’t remember our sins, then how can He punish us for them.
[SIGN]Romans 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men who suppress the truth in unrighteousness,[/SIGN]
Remember wrath is against the
ungodliness and unrighteousness of men not necessarily the men themselves.
[SIGN]Romans 5:9
Much more then, having now been justified by His blood, we shall be saved from the wrath of God through Him.[/SIGN]
Re-read the Book of Romans RCC, it seems to be address to you
I forgive you really means I forgive you. We live under grace, not grace and punishment.
