Matthew Henry , for some reason , is the gold standard. Problem is that is not catholic, it is archaic , and at times, seems just silly.he seems to take leaps and bounds to make scripture conform to the literal .
Do you disagree with the Matthew Henry commentary I quoted?

Sorry, been to the biblehub. Would never use a Protestant commentaries. They see everything as either/ or, in a reading or a verse not reliable…
It sounds like you are a teacher and a scholar so I dare not contradict you, but I’ll just say that I like Bible Hub’s library of commentaries. The website boasts “over 50 commentaries free online.” They couldn’t all be wrong, could they? 😉
… Pick up a Catholic commentaries…
If you could point me toward another free, online resource which is more Catholic, I shall be happy to consult it in the future. Thanks!

Yeah, sorry. He might been answering with some part,Lord knows , but he is not taking the whole picture in. It is like a puzzle .each piece is a fragment of the whole but for your eyes to
See what the picture is about, you have to put the pieces together and the picture becomes clearer. So with a commentary.if the pictures don’t add up, you’ll never get what is really meant.

Catholic-resources.org is a great free site and will lead you to more reliable websites, some of which are Protestant but are blessed with sanity.Scott Hahn 's site Google st. Paul center for salvation history or something like that…
Getting an individual paper commentary, will not set you back more than 8 bucks. Sometimes on used book sites you can get them for next to nothing. They are called the. Saint Ignatius bible study.
I don’t know if I’m a scholar or not but I’ve been teaching scripture for over 10 years having been certified by my diocese.
I’m undergoing chemo now so I’ll be away from study for awhile yet. Greatest compliment i
Have gotten was by my pastor who said to great better fast since, boy he could use me right now. 4 years bible school was my greatest accomplishment and joy. Only my grandson made me more joyous.
When I got sick I had the anointing of the sick done in the chapel.Student after student of mine showed up to pray for me and with me ,laying their hands on me. You never know what your efforts accomplish until something happens. I have been blessed. Since I have to stay away from the general population this is the only way I can even the semblance of teaching.
I am so ready to teach again.
Thank you Jesus.
