2 John 7-11Douay-Rheims 1899 American Edition (DRA)

7 For many seducers are gone out into the world, who confess not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh: this is a seducer and an antichrist.
8 Look to yourselves, that you lose not the things which you have wrought: but that you may receive a full reward.
9 Whosoever revolteth, and continueth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that continueth in the doctrine, the same hath both the Father and the Son.
10 If any man come to you, and bring not this doctrine, receive him not into the house nor say to him, God speed you.
11 For he that saith unto him, God speed you, communicateth with his wicked works.

How do Catholics interpret this for nowadays?
Is this still binding on current Catholics?

Like when I go to Mass I might have scrupulous behavior and I feel like it’s a sin to bless other people with the sign of peace and in general. Having to do with this verse possibly.

I’m not Catholic but I’m still taking Catholic morality kinda 😐

Stay away from people who do not believe in Jesus Christ.

Yes. But, I think you are confused by the Catholic Church’s call to evangelize.

The verse you presented concerns people, fallen away Christians (i.e. Whosoever revolteth, and continueth not in the doctrine of Christ).

It is not about a layperson talking to an acquaintance or a stranger and trying to persuade them about the truth of the Catholic Church.

Hi, Guest!

Here’s the problem, how do we know who is in Fellowship with Christ and who is not?

Unless the person in our midst demonstrate that he/she is anti-Christ we cannot reject him/her.

Look at the text:
9 Whosoever revolteth, and continueth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that continueth in the doctrine, the same hath both the Father and the Son.
Let’s say I walk into your local parish… I’m visibly drunk or under the influence of some sort of drug, etc., are the parishioners Commanded to remove me from their parish?

No.

But ushers and other officials must keep an eye on me; at any time that I become disruptive, they are to act!

…say, I am mellow and at the end of the Mass I remain in the building… well, do I get kicked out or does the Priest, Deacon, Usher or other officials approach me seeking to Evangelize me or to assist me… to welcome me into the Body of Christ?

Only when I overtly reject the Doctrine am I transgressing; only when a direct rejection of Doctrine takes place must Believers refrain from including me in the Fold.

Maran atha!

In Douay-Rheims Bible, 2 John Chapter 1 you find this explanation for
Second Epistle Of Saint John 1,10 (not 7,10)

“Nor say to him, God speed you”:
This admonition is in general, to forewarn the faithful of the dangers which may arise from a familiarity with those who have prevaricated and gone from the true faith, and with such as teach false doctrine. But this is not forbidding a charity for all men, by which we ought to wish and pray for the eternal salvation of every one, even of our enemies.
