Let us all live by Christ’s example; did He ever carry a sword? He could have fraught back when arrested, but He chose to be crucified. WHY?
What is inherently wrong with guns? If it’s due to the potential to hurt people then you might as well also say it’s un-Catholic to advocate for knives, baseball bats, alcohol, and cars.
Murders as well.
Because He was the sacrifice necessary for humanity to be redeemed. Somebody could have tried to murder Him during His ministry, which would have been more of a tragedy than a willing sacrifice. And the Jews of that age could have hired somebody to assassinate Him.

When the crowd conspired to throw Him off of a cliff, He somehow “passed through them.” So, I think it can be said that the Son of God “resisted” when some tried to kill him. Where you are trying to go with that argument is beyond me. Jesus never said that we should be a doormat and give in to unjust violence against us and our families. It is a duty and an obligation for a mother or father to protect their families from unjust aggression.
