10 Year Old Down Syndrome Boy with Leukemia Needs Prayers

Hi everyone –

There is a 10-year old boy with Down Syndrome in Atlanta, Jacob Alexander Moore, who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoplastic Leukemia (ALL) shortly before Thanksgiving. Jacob’s mother, Heidi Moore, is a huge advocate for the rights of individuals with special needs and has been a tremendous help to the rest of us in this community when faced with the challenges of raising a child with special needs.

Well, the point of my message is to ask if you could help spread the word for prayers for Jacob. Jacob has had a tough time of it over the last two months having to endure bone marrow biopsies and chemotherapy to name a few of the grueling treatments he has been dealing with. If you would, could you say a prayer for Jacob and his family? Every little bit helps, right?

This latest challenge (leukemia) has really been heart breaking for Jacob and his family and we are all on our knees praying as hard as we can that he will beat this thing and recover.

I remembered today at Communion a particular prayer for everyone I pray for and will pray for as I gazed into the Precious Blood at Communion.
 
By your Precious Blood, O Jesus,
I would press you, solicit you, importune you.
Do not reject my supplications
I will not leave your bleeding feet until you hear me.
Too many graces, too many mercies
flow from your Blood for me not to hope in its efficacy.

Then, O Jesus,
by the Precious Blood
seven times shed for the welfare of all,
by each drop of that sacred price of our redemption,
by the tears of your Immaculate Mother,
I implore you,
hear my earnest prayer.

that Jacob Moore may be cured of leukemia without harm to his body or anxiety to his precious soul

O Jesus, during all the days of your mortal life
you consoled so many sufferers,
healed so many infirmities,
raised so often a sinking courage,
you will not fail to have pity
on one who cries to you from the depths of anguish.
Oh! No, it is impossible.
Another profound sigh from my heart,
and from the wound in your own
there will flow to Jacob upon a wave
of your merciful Blood the grace so ardently desired.
O Jesus, Jesus,
hasten the moment when you will change his family’s tears into joy,
their sighs into thanksgiving.

Holy Mary,
source of the Divine Blood,
I implore you not to lose this occasion
of glorifying the Blood which made you Immaculate.
 
I pray that the Holy Spirit will comfort Jacob and his family…

Lord God be with this young man through his many trials and tribulations here on Earth. Amen.

Holy Mary, Mother of God please pray for this little boy, that God may grant him and his family some peace through their horrible journey. Amen.
 
For Jacob and his family that they find strength and peace in the Lord throughout this trial.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come;thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who tresspass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost. As it was in the beginning, is now, and every shall be, world without end. Amen.
