100 reasons why I love being Catholic

HI!

Help me make this list, please. So many of the forums on this site are contentious or desperate. I see the need for debate, but I thought a little something uplifting might be in order as well.
  1. I love the beauty and power of the Eucharist. No one else has it.
  2. I love the Virgin Mother. She is model of obedience, grace under stress and the perfect intercessor.
  3. I love the unyielding commitment to the sacredness of Human Life.
Now YOU. Let’s see how long it takes to list a HUNDRED reasons we LOVE BEING CATHOLIC.
 
  1. I love the Mass. Whatever form it takes it’s beautiful and prayerful.
  2. I love our Pope and our bishops. They’re the successors of the apostles.
  3. I love our priests. These holy men give up everything to serve God and God’s people.
 
-]/-]10. Saints, their teachings, examples, and intercessions.
 
  1. How the Catholics in my life were the first people to ever show me unconditional love ( reason for my reversion)
  2. The way the Catholic interpretation of Scripture makes both OT and NT flow together one always pointing to the other and ultimately pointing to Christ.
  3. The companionship of our family in heaven and the love they pour out on us in their prayers.
 
  1. I love the smells and bells that engage all our senses in the worship of God.
  2. I love the enduring effort to weave faith and reason not set them in opposition to each other through the Church’s teaching.
  3. I love the Treasury of Prayers!
 
  1. I love apostolic sucession. Papa Bene gets his authority from God, and that comes down RIGHT FROM PETER.
  2. Rome, Rome, Rome!
  3. The amazing social justice teaching of the Church, which calls us to action, and gives us the privelge of helping all God’s people
  4. The intellectual life of the Church, and the balance of faith and reason. The only person who can say “Because I said so” in a Catholic Church is God 🙂
