100th anniversary of St.Pius X ON THE DOCTRINE OF THE MODERNISTS

Honestly I dont know either…

Seems pretty biased that anything with Modernism or St. Pius X in it gets stuck in the trad department.

Not that I dont enjoy discussing modernism and His Holiness.

yea I agree it seems that only traditionalist are allowed to talk about modernism

I only said “no” because “OF COURSE NOT!!!” was not a choice. I have a couple of reasons, I have read Pascendi and feel nothing needs clarification. One other reason is that if Pope Benedict wishes to write about the troubles of the Church of 2007, let him do so. Not everything that every pope has written or spoken is really applicable one hundred years later. While I vigorously disagree, I believe that Pius X would have found his successors from Paul VI on to be modernists.

For those of you who wish to harken back to the Church of 1907, God bless you. But I don’t want to go there.

Pius X views not applicable to the Church today? I think you are wholly mistaken.

Maybe if his views were taken with more heed in the 50’s and 60’s, the Church wouldn’t be in the absolute mess it is in today.

And please, we don’t ‘harken’ back to any point in the past. We look forward to the future, and tradition and orthodoxy is that future. Your condescending comment does not add to the discussion.
