11-year-old girl on sex-ed committee
Panel recommending homosexual-friendly changes to curriculum

An 11-year-old girl sits on a school district committee charged with recommending changes to sex education curriculum.

In June the Board of Education of Montgomery County, Md., appointed the seventh-grader to the Citizens Advisory Committee for Family Life and Human Development for a one-year term, reported WMAL Radio. Three other students also were appointed at the same time.

The station says Russell Henke, the county’s coordinator of health education, confirmed the girl’s participation in an e-mail.

“This is not the first middle school student to serve on this committee in the committee’s 34-year history,” Henke wrote.

Steve Fisher, a spokesman for the group Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum, questioned the appointment of the girl, who attends Takoma Park Middle School.

“Is it really appropriate for someone this young to be sitting on a committee advising on some very adult themes and topics and issues?” he asked.

WMAL reports Fisher’s group opposes proposed changes to the sex-ed curriculum, which include the suggestions that homosexuality and “same-gender sex experimentation” are normal. The controversial plan also includes the viewing of a video showing a woman putting a condom on a cucumber.

Henke stressed any student who serves on the committee must first have parental permission.

Responded Fisher: “It is that parent’s prerogative, and if the school has the rules and regulations that permit it, and the parent wants that child to [serve on the committee], there’s nothing we can say against that. It’s just that some of us are concerned about the young age at which these students are exposed to extremely adult themes in sex education.”

According to the report, Each student that participates in the more controversial parts of the sex-ed curriculum, which is presented in the eighth and 10th grades, must have parental permission.

In discussing the proposed curriculum, the Citizens for a Responsible Curriculum website states: “The citizen’s advisory committee that was responsible for the proposed change ignored and refused to consider any (name removed by moderator)ut, resources or facts related to positions or views that were not fully supportive of a pro-homosexual, lesbian or transgender sexual orientation. Specifically denied were requests by other committee members to include information from ex-gay sources and other academic and scientific reports critical of homosexual activity or which reported the inherent health risks, such as the found by CDC studies.”

I am not sure what I am more offended by the fact that an 11 year old is on such a committe or that such a committe exists in the first place.

Gotta love my state. Mongomery county is about 15 minutes away from me.

There is no need to have a child on such a committee, or any commitee for that matter. A 7th grader doesn’t known anything about adult themes no matter how mature they are. Why do people want to expose children to adult matters at such a young age. Let them be kids!

Sex education should only teach the biology of sexual organs, how they work and where babies come from. Period. All this non-sense of homosexual sensitivity and contraception are things that 11 and 12 year olds are not mature enough to comprehend. It will be nothing more than a giggle fest.

Maybe I am just an old fogy but we did not have sex education and we seemed to learn everything we needed to know either from our parents or older siblings. Why are we wasting tax payer money on these programs? Do you trust people who can’t teach kids to read to teach them about sex?

It is about indoctrination.

I agree with everything you say, Stratus, except the last two sentences. That might have been true 10 years ago, but today’s 11 and 12 year olds are mature enough to comprehend not only the mechanics of sex, but arguments for contraception or the gay agenda. (When I was 11 I certainly understood the arguments AGAINST these agendas). And, sadly, a staggering number of 12 year olds are reported to be sexually active.

Kids this age are, however, too immature to understand the ramifications of the topics such a committee would toss around. I don’t fear that it would be a “giggle fest” - I am much more afraid of a committee solemnly validating the equally-solemn opinions of a precocious pre-adolescent.

What are the chances of an 11 year old really being able to comprehend what’s going on objectively? Would an 11 year old stand up and say she objects against the rest of the comittee? As a previous poster said, it’s indoctrination.

Actually this article is only a minor detail of a much more sinister objective to come. The plan works as such…
  1. Supress Parents rights to discipline children, although the concern is for abusive parents or extreme methods of discipline, other parents who agree on resonable discipline will soon find themselves unallowed to do so.
  2. Give children more freedom than necessary and not obligated to inform parents. This can be beneficial in many ways but harmful in others i.e. 13 year old who got abortion.
  3. More government control of raising children according to secular values in public schools or other arenas.
  4. Teach children sex education at an early age, some radicals suggest right from kindergarten, including showing porn films because it supposedly will make the children into better lovers when they are older. Also methods of contraception etc.
  5. Encourage sexual experimentation at a young age, even with each other, same or opposite sex. Teach tolerance for homosexuals and the possiblity of changing ones gender.
  6. The outcome is children who more and more feel like adults, and behave like adults, and hence would not honor their parents or feel the need for them.
  7. Groups like NAMBLA will increasingly push to get their agenda recognized and mainstreamed. The argument being that kids will be much safer if they experimented sexually with an experienced adult. Children as the 11 y-o in this news article ona committee will more and more be given a voice to speak for themselves (however unknowledgable or immature). With the full sex education they recieve and the more rights taken away from parents, without religion and traditional morality, what else is there to stand in the way?
  8. The eradication of age of consent laws and the legalization of pedophilia and pedaresty. A society without the need for marriage that is ageless and genderless, perhaps even worse. What blasphemy…

This has been all over the local news here. Notice that this girl comes from Takoma Park. Locals like to call the place “Takommie Park” or “The People’s Republic of Takoma Park”. It is basically Berkeley East. Montgomery County as a whole has a well-deserved reputation for being a “nanny-state” type place. That this happened there doesn’t surprise me.

What would one think if any of these adult board members dicussed these “themes” with the 11-year old say, in the park? As far as I’m concerned, they are at least partially guilty of perversion. Maybe not all of them but 1 or 2 is not out of the question.

Sex education is not complicated. However, in order for it to be beneficial, it needs to be taught in a non-intimidating, single-gender environment. The most preferred is through a parent.

Step 1:

This is what we have. This is what they(opposite gender) have. This is how it works. This is why people do it. This is why people should/should not do it.

Step 2:

The consequences of doing it incorrectly. Despite popular opinion, it is very probable that serious negative consequences will result. STD is very possible. Pregnancy is very possible and you will be in no position to take on such responsibility and murder is not an option. Emotional trauma/future marital issues are very possible. The consequences of doing it correctly are enormously beneficial and statistics show that more healthy, stable, and happy lives result. What a gift!

That’s it.

Everything else(other forms of sex ed and additional topics on sex ed) is the result of people teaching it who themselves have gone through the consequences of doing it incorrectly, and, failing to face that reality they instead avoid their pain by indoctrinating the rest of the world in a circular and self-justifying psychological power play of feeling good to avoid pain.
