I’ve thought for a long time that the AA 12 Steps could have “sin” put in for the addiction, and it would describe the life of a Catholic giving cooperation to God’s work of overcoming sin in them.

I thought the 12 steps had a Catholic base, even if they don’t admit to it publicly. If so, it makes sense that they reflect Catholic thoughts on overcome addition and sin.

Yes, the 12 steps are connected. A Fr Dowling in the 1940’s noticed the connection between the 12step tradition and the spiritual Exercises of St Ignatius.
