12 Tribes || 12 Apostles Parallel

I’ve noticed there’s this parallel in history between the 12 Tribes of Israel in the old testament and the 12 apostles in the new testament.
  1. The same number, 12
  2. One of those 12 has the royal line Judah / Peter
  3. 10 of the 12 split off - Israel splits from Judah. Eastern splits from Western
  4. Prophecies that they will be re-united
Co-incidence? :confused:
 
Yes, the 12 tribes each had a judge in the old Israel. The 12 apostles are the judges in the New Israel.

BTW, 12 tribes not only in OT but in NT in Revelation 7,
Revelation 7:4 “And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel”
then the 12 tribes are mentioned in verses 5-8 (-Dan, -Ephraim, +Manasseh, +Benjamin)

I don’t know exactly how Rev 7 relates to the apostles but there is a verse in Matthew
19:28 "And Jesus said to them, “Truly I say to you, that you who have followed Me, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon twelve thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.”
 
So if there really is a parallel, thats proof that the Papacy is legitimate and that the orthodox split away from the true kingdom (Israel split from Judah and Benjamin) like the churches founded by the other ten apostles split from those founded by Peter and St. James the Greater.

This fis interesting. I think that it takes a giant leap to believe it, but I’m interested.

Which Churches did Peter and St. James found? Of course Antioch and Rome, but what else?

I was thinking of how St. James the Greater went to Spain. And Peter in Rome. So, basically italy and spain? Were there other of the 12 apostles in the west?
 
Thus the word of the LORD came to me:

Now, son of man, take a single stick, and write on it: Judah and those Israelites who are associated with him. Then take another stick and write on it: Joseph (the stick of Ephraim) and all the house of Israel associated with him.
Then join the two sticks together, so that they form one stick in your hand.
When your countrymen ask you, “Will you not tell us what you mean by all this?”,
answer them: Thus says the Lord GOD: (I will take the stick of Joseph, which is in the hand of Ephraim, and of the tribes of Israel associated with him, and I will join to it the stick of Judah, making them a single stick; they shall be one in my hand.
