Of course the marriage will take place, since the Islamic dogma supports that according to Muhammed’s sunnah, then sure no one can void such marriage, else they would be against Muhammed marriage with Aisha at the age of six.

Sahih Bukhari, Volume 7, Book 62, Number 64:
“Narrated 'Aisha:**that the Prophet married her when she was six years old and he consummated his marriage when she was nine years old, and then she remained with him for nine years (i.e., till his death).”

That’s really disgusting. I don’t care how broke I ever get, I’m not “selling” my pre-teen daughter to an 80-year old man.

In fact this whole affair is disgusting.

She kinda reminds me of the girl in “The Fall.” Which makes me feel even worse (looks like she’s in a scene from the Great Depression or something).

Yes most of such marriages lead to a great depression to the wife, and if the husband got depression for one reason or another he would go and marry another woman.
 
This should be really be stopped in the name of humanity. 😦 The rituals these days have taken a turn that everybody follow it but no one know why. :confused: “Mahr” might be a ritual made a long time back for some purpose and has been followed till today, but the difference is that the ritual followed by people has taken a wrong turn.🤷
 
There’s a name in America (and most parts of the world) for when an 80 year old man wants to marry a 12 year old girl: it’s called pedophilia.

We have another name for when someone charges $22,667 for that: it’s called human trafficking. And the poor victim (the 12 year old girl) is called a sex slave.

Very sad indeed. We need to pray for her and others in similar situations.
 
This is so sad. Robbing a child of innocence for whatever reason is wrong. I was tempted to crack a joke, but I won’t do that now.

And, how many other wives does this father have? When (presumably in the next decade or two) he dies, what is she left with? Will she have children (questionable) to take care of her? What if he dies in 15 years and she is suddenly a 27 year old widow? How marriagable is she then?

I hate having governments intervening in religious matters, but this is insane.
