My 12 year old daughter just entered the 7th grade and is failing every single class. The teachers have told us she is not focusing in class and is too busy socializing. This has always been a problem with her. We went to her parent/teacher conference to find this out. We also found out that she was given a progress report to bring home and she threw it away and never gave it to us. She is also not doing her homework. I had been checking on her to see if she was going her homework and she would say she was and it seemed like she was but then the teachers said she never turned in any of her homework. So she’s been lying to whole time because I would continually ask her if she had turned in her homework and she would say yes. We are trying to help her and but she doesn’t seem to be interested in improving. She said she wants to improve but doesn’t seem to want to put the effort in when she’s at school because she rather be chitchating with her friends. She is easily influenced by impressing her friends. My husband is very upset and looses it because of this. We have gone over tihs time and time and time again but she always falls into it again. She had never gotten Fs before so this is VERY shocking and disappointing for Dh and I. We have tried approaching this in so many ways that we don’t know what to do. It doesn’t seem to be getting through to her that she is harming herself by doing this. Dh has tried to be patient but loses patience when he sees she doesn’t try and gives up. She doesn’t seem to get the message that by socializing she is cheating herself out of her studies. We thought maybe she was overwelmed or maybe it was too difficult for her so we have sat down with her to help her with homework but when we do it makes it clear she obviously has not been paying attention in class because she has no idea where to even begin or even, for example, what chapter they are on in class. She’s just clearly not paying attention to the teacher. She said she doesn’t want to hear the teachers talk. Please pray for her and for my husband to be more patient with this whole situation. I am so stressed out over this whole thing. Please pray for my husband’s patience and for dd to realize she needs to get serious about her studies.

Saint Ann, you were the first teacher to your daughter who became our Blessed Mother. Help these parents awaken an interest in learning in their child. Help the child focus on her studies and recognize her parents’ authority & love for her. I ask this in the Name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, Amen.

Praying for your daughter…12 is a tough age to be…and praying for your entire family…

O glorious St. Joseph,
to you God committed the care
of His only begotten Son
amid the many dangers of this world.
We come to you
and ask you to take under your special protection
the children God has given us.
Through holy baptism they became children of God
and members of His holy Church.
We consecrate them to you today,
that through this consecration
they may become your foster children.
Guard them, guide their steps in life,
form their hearts after the hearts of Jesus and Mary.

St. Joseph,
who felt the tribulation and worry of a parent
when the child Jesus was lost,
protect our dear children for time and eternity.
May you be their father and counselor.
let them, like Jesus,
grow in age as well as in wisdom
and grace before God and men.
Preserve them from the corruption of this world,
and give us the grace one day
to be united with them in heaven forever.

Amen.

St. Thomas Aquinas, please pray with us for the virtues of patience and humility for Cagrls’ daughter in these trying times. We ask You, Lord, to offer comfort and hope to all involved. Mary, pray with us. Amen. :gopray2:

Blessed Mother, Please pray for wisdom and strength for these parents. Bring them wise counsel, and a clear picture, so these parents can stand united and firm in their new expectations for their daughter, who is in such desparate need of strong guidance. Amen.

Your intentions will be in my prayers.*

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen

***God bless you † ***

Been there with my teen. Many prayers for her, but for you as well.

Holy Spirit please reveal the underlying cause for this young girl’s difficulties and allow it to be addressed. Please help and heal this girl and give peace and happiness to her and her parents. Thank You, Holy Spirit.
