I saw it the other day.
Why did you weep?
I wasn’t sure, Nelka. I think it’s because my own daughter is growing up so quickly. I treasure the person she’s becoming, but the time between her birth and now seems to have flown by so quickly, and I remember all the times we’ve enjoyed. I sometimes run across an old children’s DVD or videotape that she used to watch over and over again when she was 5 or 6, and think of how much more older she’s become, and that she’d never think of watching it now (
au revoir, “Pooh’s Grand Adventure”) but how I enjoyed watching it (over and over and over) with her, or more exactly watching her watch it, when she was a little girl.
And I think it reminded me of what a blessing Time is, as much as we sometimes hate it, because we feel it takes people we love away from us.There is no particular reason God needed to create a universe where we experience things sequentially - He could as easily have created a world for us where we experience all things at once - but how sweet it is to see things happen, one after the other, and see an order in life, and see growth, and have memories.
Watching this new video reminded me of how precious a life is, and how blessed I am, and all are, who have children in our lives and in our world.
