15 Mortal sins Catholics are frequently missing in their confession

I agree. My problem with this blog post is that it has been presented on here like it is some kind of Catholic teaching, when there are a bunch of errors and misleading statements in it. Not just matters of opinion (e.g. leggings in general are indecent) but actual doctrinal concerns e.g. “these are mortal sins” rather than grave sin that might be mortal if the other two elements are present.
 
Judging those who judge the judgemental is being judgemental and judging those who judge those who judge those who judge those who judge the judgemental etc…
 
It is grave matter and should be confessed always and frequently. This helps heal and gives the person hope and guidance.
My point is that I don’t know, nor does the Church say that everyone who has an issue with masturbation is constantly in mortal sin. It is grave matter, however the matter to be mortal could not be met and make it more venial for many people who have an addiction or have emotional difficulties which makes them hard to overcome this. And it is a battle and many people do struggle with it.
It is best to seek advice from priest or spiritual advisor as to what they think your culpability is as they will know you more personally and know your struggles etc.

You won’t go to hell for something you didn’t know was a sin. Remember the three conditions of mortal sin.
 
So kissing your partner or caressing them is a mortal sin? This seems a bit odd. I get when it goes overboard but it becomes almost impossible,under these guidelines, to show any physical affection to your partner.

Oral sex or any foreplay in marriage has always been taught to me as okay as long as it leads to the end of reproduction.

Father does make many good points but I’m sure many other priest would disagree.

The CNA article seems to be from 2018. Maybe he has found a place to settle down by now. But it sounds like a rather troubling situation.
 
Oh, it’s that priest. I didn’t connect the name but I remember the story.

I just checked the Diocese of Denver website. It seems he still does not have an assignment as his name does not appear on the website.

I will pray for this priest.
