Good for you!!! And you are right, I have one of those and he’s been that way from the start. He used to stand away from the group of kids playing and make up his mind how he wanted to join in. I didn’t understand and thought he was just shy, but over time I’ve seen that he’s above all, rational and his own person. His brother, 180 from that. He’s the independent one, very stubborn, yet also very easily influenced by his need for others’ approval. Neither one is what they seem to be at first glance. The one I thought would succumb to peer pressure is his own person; the one I thought would be a leader has been more of a follower. I wish I’d had 6 or 7 more, just to see the marvelous works of God!!! Having kids is so amazing.OP, no worries, because for one thing, the longer your son waits and observes, the wiser he’ll be (learning from others’ mistakes, etc.). Also, the son of some friends of mine didn’t get married till he was 35 about 3 years ago (mainly because he was shy), and he wasn’t gay, either. **Believe it or not, there’s a personality type that has prudence wired into them from the get-go (I’m one of them **), and they just don’t dive in feet first into situations the way most people do. Rejoice that he hasn’t been poisoned—and weakened!—by the degenerative influence of modern society.
