Does anyone know if the 1917 code of canon law is on-line (in English)? I would much appreciate a link if it exists. Thanks in advance.

You should be able to translate the Latin if you use the appropriate internet translation functions. So far I have only found the document in Latin
jgray.org/codes/cic17lat.html

The following site suggests where to find the 1917 code in English. It appears that it isn’t available in English online.

Note that this book is more of a paraphrase than a literal translation.
There was never an official translation of the 1917 Code of Canon Law. In fact, it is my understanding that it was so strict that any attempted translation was discouraged, if not forbidden. Dixit quod dixit. Of course, now it’s all a moot point.

That’s simply not true. In fact, I have the 1917 Code of Canon Law in English. The Commentary is different.

Peters did an unofficial English literal translation. It’s not available in etext as it’s relatively recent. It’s a good buy.

Everyone should have it.
