1962 Mass in English?

I have seen the new roman missel and it’s in there as to the Priest saying and peace be with you , and we response and with your spirit , The usccb has approved the changes back in 2006 I believe and now its up to the bishops to change it.

But its not new Its the language we used way back in the 60;s.
Our pope isn’t he something , I am waiting on latin masses at all weekend masses. I feel when this happens, there’s going to be alot of catholics upset and won’t come back to the church , Only for the simple reason without change we won’t be progressing with the changes of time. Pray for keeping the mass and liturgy as it is now , Not going back to the past. MY opinion.

And the Mass as it is is causing the church to flourish, is it?

It’s time to move on from the “new springtime” delusion and get back to authentic, Catholic, traditional liturgy.

It sounds like you’ve got a copy of an obscure Missal known as the '65 Mass. Not to oversimplify things, but it was largely a vernacular version of the TLM. People look back on it as a “transitional missal”, though it wasn’t really conceived as such at the time.

IMHO, it is the actual Mass of Vatican 2, since it carefully adheres to Sacrosanctum Concillium.

The '65 wasn’t widely used and exists basically only as a footnote in Liturgical history.

Apparently the publishers didn’t anticipate it being short-lived – it has a chart showing the dates of movable feasts up to 1995
And on the base of the spine I just noticed it is stamped Vatican II Edition.

I was an altar boy a couple year or two after this missal came out – I vaguely remember there being some Latin in the Mass, then none at all.
