How do you use your Roman Missal?. Do you use it at home?. How do you use it at home?.

I am looking to buy my first one; in the meantime, I read the Una Voce Missal passed out at Mass to get acquainted with TLM

When you’re at Mass on sunday ask one of the sisters which page should you be on in your roman missal then just remember to follow on the same cycle a or b or c for example each sunday. If you get mixed up then just ask the nearest parishioner using their roman missal.

I try and put the book marks in place before i go to Mass. That helps.

At home I use it for morning and evening prayers.

I use it during mass to follow along and pray the mass more intensely.

When I use it at home or outside of mass it is so I can do a number of things including.
  • Referencing the rosary or station of the cross.
  • it has lovely set of prayers - including a daily meditation that helps me a lot.
  • to read the mass at home when I cannot make it to mass.

I can’t use the Missal on Sundays, because I have no TLM masses in my local area. My missal is 1962. I bought it hoping that I would be able to use it in one of my local parishes, after Summorum Pontificum went into effect. But it wasn’t the case. Will probably have to wait for 20 some years. I would like to use it at home though while I wait. To get some use out of it. I love the missal, and pray that someday every Catholic will own one.

I received my St. John Cantius 1962 Missal. Very disappointed. Just the mass paryers, epistleand gospels. Fr. Lasance is the best. Has history of mass, many instructions. and excellent prayers for devotion. 👍

follow along in it - make a habit of reading the mass for the day every once in a while.

Also I know my Angelus press missal is full of devotional pieces that have benefited me beyond belief.

I would buy it too if I was not near a TLM.

The night before I go to Mass I put my “ribbons in order” and then follow along the readings to become familiar with the next day’s Mass.

I also use my missal for morning and evening devotions like others have said.
