1970 NAB vs revised NT & Psalms

I just received an 1970 NAB. I know that the NT and Psalms have been revised. You guys are always on it about differences in translations. What am I going to notice in the 1970 NAB?

The only odd things I can think of with respect to the original NAB are minor. One is how the verses - not the chapters - are numbered in the Psalms. It makes them one off from every other version. The second is that there are a few places in the OT where a block of text has been moved from one spot to another where the translators felt it fit better. I can’t think of an example off-hand. Neither should discourage its use.

Unless you’re partial to gender-inclusive language, you’ll find the 1970 Psalms to be SUPERIOR in the nth-degree to that of the 1991 “revised” Psalms.

As for the 1986 revised NT: well, its intentions were good; i.e., to be more formal-equivalent than the 1970 NT which bordered on the colloquial (cf. James 2:14), but they blew it with the unbridled inclusive language.

The changes between the two editions of the Psalms and NT are NOT trivial. The NT needed changes, but some political correctness was added; the Psalms did not need changing, but not only was political correctness put in but low literary quality as well.
