Many times the priest at our parish intincts the Host in the Precious Blood before giving Him to us. It is a way to receive under both species and not have to have two ministers distributing like at a daily Mass where there aren’t so many communicants that would justify an extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. (because most of the time there is only one priest at the Mass).
