Oh please don’t get rid of the Bible. If you don’t want to use it in church that is fine by me (you will find that I will be very easy to please here). Just let me use it read on my own. Or it can be a community Bible.
OK, that is a better idea.

I’m guessing:
The Skipper = Catholic
Gilligan = Baptist
Ginger = Methodist
Mary Ann = Lutheran
The Howell’s = Episcopalians
The Professor = Jewish
I always heard it like this:

The Skipper = Gluttony

Gilligan = Sloth

Ginger = Lust

Mary Ann = Envy

Mr. Howell = Greed

Mrs. Howell = Anger

The Professor = Pride

I wonder how this might correlate to your equation? :hmmm:

Peace,

Why not:

The Skipper = Leadership

Gilligan = Loyalty

Ginger = Self assure

Mary Ann = Values (Midwestern farmer working kind of gal)

Mr. Howell = Successful

Mrs. Howell = Faithful Spouse

The Professor = Ingenuity

Why do we as humans tend to see the negative?

Ahhh…yet another set of variables! 😃

I just thot it humorous. Altho, recognizing negatives serves as a warning to us.

You do know that “Amazing Grace” can be sung - perfectly - to the theme tune from “Gilligan’s Island,” yes? Try it . . .

The Holy Spirit-- people seeking God for help in making ethical decisions founded on Biblical principles-- no more quibbles about fine points of theology. I have explored this problem in depth. 😉

When that priest dies, without connection with Rome, no more priests. Development of rituals with sacramental meaning?

Very good on characters and their denominational affiliation, KofC. 🙂 Especially the Howells.

Translate the Bible into plain English. With time, it would otherwise become totally unreadable.

Just sit right back and you’ll hear a tale …

Amazing Grace how sweet the sound …

I don’t see it, hear it 🤷

Sorry I can’t provide the score here…but you sure can.

Edit…D’oh…if there is a way to get the note names above the proper words to come out the way I have it written in, I am not getting it…d’oh.

I am voting that the church be central on the Island… not on a shore where it can get washed away. Or maybe on a rock, so it’s foundation is worthy of the building. But then, maybe it should be an open air chapel on the highest point of the Island to admire God’s work and can second for a watch tower… hmmm decisions!!

Please tell me the center of the Island is it’s highest point and built of rock (but not volcanic)/???

Yes, it’s shaped exactly like a Hershey’s Kiss. 😃

But Daily Mass is going to be a chore to get to.

No, in time the language of the island would be primarily KJV English, and otherwise a mix of the dialects of the survivors with a few new twists that won’t affect comprehension.

Yea, that it [would] be that this poor causer of sin [could] learn to annunciate [those] brackets. 😃
I think we have italics. Perhaps future generations will pronounce them with a mumble or a slight vibrato? We’ll just wait and find out.

I propose we have a daily prayer meeting where all gather to pray silently. If there are people who don’t believe there is anyone to pray to, they can show up and enjoy the quiet. 😉

Or maybe they would go fishing. The rest could cook after prayer.

Are we going to appoint a pastor? Or maybe we just take turns reading passages Catholic style?

I also think we need to put all the pews in the back of the church so the Catholics will have someplace to sit (no way we’re sitting in the front row) 😉
