1st Saturday Question

If you always attend vigil service on Saturday, does that count as first Saturday or must you also go to morning Saturday mass? and
Does it matter if you go to Vigil Saturday AND Sunday for this question?

The Vigil Mass on Saturday is for Sunday obligation. For the First Saturday devotion, the Mass should be in the morning or before the Vigil Mass. You may attend a Saturday Mass for First Saturday and also the Saturday Vigil Mass for Sunday. God bless.

I disagree. The evening of a first Saturday is on first Saturday. The devotion simply requires that Holy Communion be received on five first Saturdays in a row. Besides the obvious fact that any reception of Communion on Saturday is on Saturday, the Lord Himself told Sister Lucia that a person could receive Communion on the following Sunday, for a just cause and if the priests allow it.

Since the Lord and the Blessed Virgin are so generous, I think we can safely say that any Mass on Saturday “counts.”

Thank you. Although we normally go to vigil as well as a Sunday mass, I would rather not go to 2 on Saturday.
