From today’s Liturgy of the Hours:
Prayers and Intercessions
Christ is the bread of life, and on the last day he will raise up those who have shared the feast of his body and blood. Therefore with joy we pray:
- Lord, give us peace and joy.
You are the Son of God – raised from the dead, you are the Lord of life:
bless and sanctify us and all our brethren.
You give peace and joy to all who believe in you:
let us walk as children of light and rejoice in your victory.
Give your help to your Church in her pilgrimage on earth:
help her to bear witness to your resurrection.
Having suffered much, you entered into the Father’s glory:
look upon those who mourn and turn their sadness into rejoicing.
Our Father, who art in Heaven,
hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come,
thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those that trespass against us,
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
O God, you have renewed your faithful people in the waters of baptism.
Keep in your care those who have been reborn in Christ:
protect them from corruption by false teaching;
let them preserve the grace that your blessing has given them.
Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son,
who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
God for ever and ever.
Amen.
