You there, brothers, since you are forewarned, beware that you are not carried away with the error of the lawless and lose your own stability.’

Does this seem to be a warning against using St Paul’s letters to justify the heresy of faith alone, not needing to do any good works, like protestants misuse selected parts of his letters for?

Although 2 Peter seems mostly concerned with issues raised by those who were misinterpreting the prophecies of Scripture about Christ’s Second Coming, it does seem to point to the general danger that private interpretation of Scripture without regard for Church “authority” (2 Peter 2:10) can lead a person astray, such as happened in the case of Martin Luther and the other so-called Protestant reformers.

I personally believe it is, due to the fact that
St-Jude also had to speak of faith without works as being dead.

Yes, Peter was talking about Paul’s writings as a whole and wasnt focused on any one distortion/heresy.

Yes, these are the best verses in Scripture against the perpiscuity of Scripture: another Lutheran heresy.

Read the book of Daniel. God gave the dream to both the king and Daniel. And, gave Daniel the interpretation too.

Basically, true revelation from God is not man induced, but is done when God wants to, and has the message that God wants it to mean.

I think pentecostal ministers who claim that God told them to divorce their wife, to marry their hot securtary are just kinding themselves.
