Is trusting that God loves you, enough to save a person?

Is trusting that God is good, enough to save a person?

No! You can trust that God is good and loves you but still refuse to love Him. Pride and ingratitude are the main reasons why a person cannot go to heaven. If we love ourselves more than God and more than others we cannot possibly be saved regardless of how much we trust Him. Trust in God** may** be a habit which has no effect on the way we live.

This sounds like a trick question. LOL In the first place, the only thing that is ‘enough’ to save a person is the Blood of Christ Jesus shed on the Cross. Secondly, there is nothing that we can do to merit or earn salvation - God saves who He wants to save.

But in response to these points on trusting in God’s love and goodness, they are a great start in how we learn to Cooperate with Him. It through His love and goodness that He draws nearer to us and draws us nearer to Him. So these things do not save us, in and of themselves, but they are the energy for the means of Salvation, which is Christ Jesus crucified and risen. 👍

Hope this helps . . . God Bless

Hmmm …:hmmm:… “In God We Trust” … (Now where have I seen that written before?") 😉

On a more serious note, tonyrey said it :

If we’re trying to equate “trust” with “faith” then James: Chapter 2 , starting with verse 20 and culminating in verse 26 “For just as a body without a spirit is dead, so also faith without works is dead.” , suggests we’re better off having the works, which would prove the “trust” or “faith”.

These “works” are as tonyrey said , and as Jesus said, quite simply: Love…Love God, and love our fellow man.
