It always struck me that in our Catholic Church, there is 2 very differents rites coexist for several years, the NO and the TLM. I know these are not 2 rites but 2 forms of only one rite in the liturgy of our Church. But these form are extremely different. I grew up with the NO but recently tried to go to TLM several times and it always take me to look at what others people do to follow. It’s hard to know what to do in a TLM mass since i’m so new to it.

It takes time to learn. Do you have a daily missal ? It’s helpful if your missal has the priest’s rubrics. If you can learn to tell where you are in the missal by seeing what the priest is doing, it helps.

There are actually about six rites, or liturgical families, in the Catholic Church.

In any case, you learned how to worship and respond at the Ordinary Form. You can learn how do to so at the Extraordinary Form or any of the Eastern Liturgies as well.
