Is ewtn showing midnight mass this year?

We go to the the 4:00 Christmas Eve Mass!

Merry Christmas and God bless!

My parish doesn’t have a Mass that starts at midnight anyway. We like to go Christmas Day.

I love midnight Mass. The Church I was baptized and confirmed in (the Parish my parents live in) the choir sings religious Christmas carols before midnight, quietly. Then at the stroke of mid of midnight, they sing Come ole ye Faithful loudly with the organ. All verses and then Latin verse at the end (with the procession).

The choir then signs other songs after Mass.

They do a very good job of keeping it very Holy and celebrate.

God Bless

Normally I would go to Midnight Mass with my sister in law but she can’t this year, so The Mister and I will go to the 8pm Christmas Eve Mass.

I’ll be snug in bed at Midnight.

Don’t want Santa to pass over my house cuz I’m not in bed sleeping. 😃

We don’t have a midnight Mass at my parish. Our last Mass is at 10 PM.

Yes, I’m going. I’d go regardless (family tradition), but since I’m serving the Mass I don’t really have a choice 😉

Planning on it. Only thing that may throw a wrench in it is weather or kiddies sick or something similar. Our ‘midnighf mass’ is really 10:30 PM.

Not this year. I have gone to Midnight Mass (which really starts at midnight in my parish) in previous years. This year I am invited to a Christmas Day mid morning breakfast and have to get up early to get to it. Getting home at 2am does not work with getting up early. I have lots of options for Christmas Mass times in my area, so going someplace other than my usual parish is no problem.

I’m a cantor. My church has 4 Christmas masses. I’m not attending the 4 pm Christmas eve mass but I will be the sole singer at 6:00 pm. I’ll also sing, with a choir, at the Midnight mass as well as with choir at the 9:00 am mass Christmas day.

We will be attending an earlier Mass. Our parish Church will have 3 Masses on the evening of December 24.

That’s not “midnight Mass,” that’s the Christmas Vigil.

If you look at the Roman Missal, you will see that there are different readings for different times on Christmas.
  • The Christmas Vigil Mass for 4pm until before midnight on the 24th
  • The Christmas Mass at night (midnight Mass) which takes place between midnight and dawn
  • the Christmas Mass at Dawn (which takes place at day break)
  • the Christmas Day Mass which takes place during the “normal day” on the 25th
from the USCCB

God Bless

Any Mass on Christmas Eve evening fulfills the Christmas Day obligation. It doesn’t matter what the reading are.

I know that. I was simply stating that mass at 10pm isn’t the same readings as Mass at midnight.

We never miss a midnight mass on Christmas Eve. This is one of my favorite times of the year as a Catholic. So holy and reverent.

God bless!
