2014 Advent Novena

[leadff53]

I would like to pray the Advent Novena but have some questions about it.

1. Are the 2014 dates December 1 - 9?
2. I have the Catholic Book of Novenas and it lists a meditation and three prayers for the Advent Novena. Do I meditate on the meditation and say all three prayers or do I just choose one of the prayers?
I couldn’t find anything else about this novena. There were lots of info about the Christmas Novena but not the 9 day Advent Novena.
I did find a website that listed the prayers but there were no dates and no other instructions on the Novena.
Is there any place, website or book that lists all the novenas and their start/end dates?

This is listed both as an Advent Novena and a Christmas Novena but lasts more than nine days.

Starting on St. Andrew’s Feast day, November 30, ******
the following beautiful prayer is traditionally recited fifteen times a day until Christmas.******
This is a very meditative prayer that helps us increase our awareness of the real meaning of Christmas
and helps us prepare ourselves spiritually for His coming.

Hail and blessed be the hour and moment
In which the Son of God was born
Of the most pure Virgin Mary,
at midnight, in Bethlehem,
in the piercing cold.
In that hour vouchsafe, I beseech Thee,
O my God,
to hear my prayer and grant my desires,
[here mention your request]
through the merits of Our Saviour Jesus Christ,
and of His Blessed Mother.
AMEN

Hi leadff53,

The only Advent and Christmas Novena that I know about, is the one that DesertSister shared with us here. It is a really lovely and beautiful Novena, if you would like to pray it.

I did try to look up information on-line, to see if there were any other Advent Novenas out there to see if I could help you, but I couldn’t find anything, either.

The only other thing that I can think of, would be to contact the publisher of your Novena book, to see if they have any kind of supplemental information for the dates with it, so that you will know when to pray the Novenas in it.
