2017- 100 years matters

Hi,

Is anyone else feeling a bit annoyed with all these people trying to scare you about 2017?
People were so adamant that something was going to happen. I read a blog saying why 100 years was so significant and other blogs saying “prepare for 2017” buy blessed candles in etc.
Then, there was stuff about a massive sign appearing in the sky, then people went on about October 13th being so significant and to get to confession asap.

Then what happened…nothing, I think people need to keep their own ideas to themselves and not keep trying to frighten people.

No, I’m not annoyed because I didn’t listen to them. I lived through the year 2000, among others, where there was a great doomsday cry. And nothing happened. Times are rough today, and there are people trying desperately to predict the end of the world. Just look at the thread about “end times speculation,” and the insistence among some that the so-called Prophecy of the Popes is true. A lot of this appears to be real scorn/hatred for Pope Francis. A real lack of charity is shown here.
But back to the point–there will always be doomsday “prophets.” Remember that Jesus was absolutely clear on this when he told us they’d come but do not believe them. And he said that no one except the Father knows when the end will come. Take him at his word and ignore anyone who insists they “know” what will happen.
On the other hand, it is good for us to remember that OUR end will come, depending on your age, very soon…that’s a given! That’s all we need to worry about.

I think you’re into reading predictions and end time stuff, from these 2 recent threads.
Stop it. Live a just, holy life, having God at the center, do good in your community, try to live out the corporal works of mercy, receive Sacraments regularly, and pray.
All will be well. The rest is just speculation and nothing to do with Catholicism.

According to the vision granted to Pope St. Leo 13th in 1884, when he was allowed to hear a conversation between the Lord and Satan. Satan told the Lord that if he was given 100 years he would be able to destroy the Church. The Pope fainted
when he heard this conversation. When he came round and some people came to his aid - he told them that the Lord had given Satan one hundred years. Pope Leo composed the well known St. Michael prayer for protection, which used to be recited after every Mass.
It is widely believed that Satan’s hundred years began after the apparitions of Fatima. Almost immediately the bloody Bolshevik Revolution ushered in atheistic Communism in Russia.
Thats why many Catholics are fervently believing that Satan’s hundred years came to an end in Oct. 2017, exactly a hundred years since the final Fatima apparition .

Then what happened…nothing,

There have been some pretty interesting signs in the sky, but I don’t necessarily interpret them all as being the Apocalypse.

And yes, October 13 was very significant for me…I got to be part of a huge Mass the size of the Wacken Festival and pray the Rosary with hundreds of people from all over the world…got to see someone waving the flag of my country front and center…it was wonderful to see such devotion to Our Blessed Mother from everyone who was there. Afterwards I went and made the stations of the cross on the Via Sacra and saw places where saints had walked and played.

That was enough…it was a wonderful day. I didn’t need God (through Mary) to make the sun dance.
