The Vatican has officially announced the excommunication of the Chinese bishop ordained on July 14 in defiance of the Holy See. This was the 2nd public announcement of excommunication …

Stalin asked: “How many divisions does the Pope have?”.
Will this corrupt and blood-stained dictatorship ask the same thing?
Please! May we not back down! It`s time for us to pray to the Church Triumphant and to the legions of angels.

This is appalling. Someday maybe the Chinese will have the good sense to overthrow their government.

I once travelled with three Chinese priests. I was advised never to ask if their allegiance was to the state or to the Vatican, because one of the other two priests could have been a state informant. It’s even unlikely that any of them knew for certain where each others’ loyalties lied.

It not like they haven’t tried. Popular revolt doesn’t really work if your leaders wouldn’t think twice in squishing you like bugs, literally.

That is why our obligation to attend Mass is automatically dispensed whenever we are in China (Hong Kong and Macau not included). Because we don’t know who’s valid or not, and we should never seek the underground Church because we might put their lives in danger.

That’s true but I would think that if people wanted to revolt they would learn the lesson from Tienanmen Square and prepare accordingly.

May St. John Gabriel Perboyre
bless the suffering flock in China.
He was a French Vincentian priest
who suffered martyrdom in China.

St. Vincent de Paul, pray for us.
St. John Gabriel, pray for us.

It’s easy to say “stand tall, brother catholics” behind my computer screen in my air conditioned comfort in a world where the police exist to protect ME from thugs.

For those that lack the courage to defy their despotic government, I have no condemnation. For those that do have that courage, I have awe and admiration.

Yes. It’s now 60+ years of Communist rule in China.
That amounts to three entire generations of children raised under Communism.

Prayers for Chinese Catholics and other Chinese Christians, always.
