“Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation”. KJB1611
I as a Catholic said it is talking about interpretation ,a protestant friend said it is only talking about prophecy,Can some one please help me.

Yes there is another thread on this exact verse. The thread is See. Its right there in the bible started by Paris Blue in which you Will Pick participated. Why start another thread on the same thing?
 
Hi Will, we go to the book of Daniel to show how God gave both the dreams and interpretations of the dreams. We do not see it as forbidding private bible studies or research into scripture because there are many other places that tells us to study the word of God.

I agree to be safe one must compare their understanding of scripture with a corporate body of believers so not to run amonk.

Sorry but Blue is talking about 2Peter 3:16 and I.m talking about 2Peter 1:20.
