3 Books?????

I need a little insight on these three books.

Mother Angelica’s Little Book of Life Lessons and Everyday Spirituality By Mother Angelica

City of God By St. Augustine

Jesus of Nazereth By Pope Benedict XVI

I want to buy them, but I just wanted to know if they are good. For the St. Augustine I want to know if it is easy to understand. I’m reading “Confessions” and I can just barely understand it. Thanks!

Ive got Jesus of Nazareth, but on cd format. Im in the middle of listening to it again, but I havent been doing so consistently, so I may forget the context of previous parts etc.

Its quite good, but it depends upon what you are after. Its geared towards an apolegetic book. The best part that I can remember is when Pope Benedict starts talking about another book by a Jewish rabbi (Neusner I think his name is) called “A Rabbi talks with Jesus”. Its interesting that the rabbi thinks that Jesus was claiming to be above the law, and that he believes that Jesus was claiming to be divine. Even so, the author ends up deciding to stay with the “eternal Israel” (probably meaning the Jewish religion) as he calls it.

I felt though as an apolegetics book it left me wanting more. I dont think others may feel the same. Also, some of the text can get a little complex, but I think it fine for the average reader. Sorry I can’t offer a more thorough review. Have you checked the reviews at Amazon?

I agree about Confession, but haven’t started City of God yet.
