Yeesh…

Well, my parish has a relic of his, and so it would make sense for us to have a statue of him

no… i guess its theoretically for my church, but im just looking

Bring it to the finance committee…ask who is on it. Write up a proposal. You never know! We did that for a statue of Mary at our old parish. THe new priest was appalled that the place didn’t have a Mary. So we put together a committee with various options, a plan for placement, and how it was going to get paid for: through a Benefactor, regular ongoing donations to the project, or outright purchase by the parish itself.

The one that you suggested wouldnt exactly work…
We have relics for St Catharine of Siena (our patron) and then John Paul II and Maria Goretti…
We have a statue for St. Catharine, but not for JP2 and Goretti, and Goretti statues are pretty easy to find due to her age- I have a few bookmarked.
But finding a ‘sanctuary-size’ statue of JP2 is pretty difficult

(edit)
Our parish is putting on an addition in the next year or two, with a statue of Jp2 inside, so… My quest is in vain hahaha

Google is your friend. When I get to the office I will send you the names of Catholic Church Supply houses that sell large stautary.

*Off topic

Max, did you ever go to a Mass celebrated by Cardinal Burke?

I thought so when it was already too late. I do exchange PMs actually.

The marble statue is nice. Expensive, too, I would think. Hand carved. I’m guessing at least $2,000.

Parishes spend a lot on church appointments, but generally, you can find a benefactor to cover it. people are always looking to do something in memory of a past pastor, or relative.

2 grand is nothing regarding these things. Tabernacles alone can range upwards of 10 grand.
Full Sacturary sized things are costly. Becuase they know you’ll only ever buy ONE, and they are unique works of art.

No… I would love to, but i’ve never been able to attend one of his Masses.

I wasn’t in attendance, but he did make an impropmtu visit to my local seminary when he was in town for a prolife ethics conference.

May I ask what makes you ask?

That’s exactly what we’re doing- having almost everything sponsored/ named. Thankfully, we already have a tabernacle, altar, and Stations of the Cross

Churches can sometimes acquire these things on the cheap from other churches in the area that close. The statuary and such are often taken by the Diocese to a special warehouse where only other churches can purchase the items. At least that’s how it works in my Diocese back home, and that is how our church acquired a 2-foot-high statue of Pope JP II, among other things.
