Safety? Those airbags are can kill short people and babies.
The angels are the best protection.

We drive a 1989 Ford Country Squire. It is easy to find in the parking lot, as opposed to all those non-nondescript cars everyone seems to drive.

I can’t say that I like it. It feels like a boat. It has belts for 8.

There’s another myth: that airbags kill people.

If you fail to wear a seat belt then your body will be very close to the airbag when it deploys. In that case, the airbag will harm you and may kill you. If the same car didn’t have an airbag, your failure to wear a seat belt would still kill you. The airbag is not at fault.

All cars with airbags carry clear warnings that children must not ride in the front seat if there is a rear seat available, and that rear-facing child restraints must not be used in seats where front airbags are provided. They also must not be used where side airbags are provided in the seats.

These instructions are clear.

It is dishonest to claim that car occupants who refuse to wear seat belts, or to follow other safety rules, have actually been killed by their airbags.
