Does anyone have any advice before I embark on this journey to Marian consercration? I plan to start in June of July, although I haven’t yet picked out a Marian feast day yet to shoot for on liturgical calendar. Any feedback or suggestions is appreciated.

Hello!

I used this book with our Youth Group last fall. There’s also a video series that goes with it. I recommend using both the video series and the book, together.

24 out of 30 Youth members chose to make the Consecration at the end of the program. The remaining six wanted to take some extra time to re-read the book, and do the Consecration next year.

I personally prefer Total consecration to Jesus Christ through Mary. It’s based on St Louis de Monfort. However, both are fine.

Maybe you can do it so that your consecration to Jesus through Mary can take place on the Feast of the Assumption on August 15.

May God bless you as you undertake this journey! 🙂

My two pieces of advice would be to aim for consecration on a major Marian feast day (the Assumption - Aug 15 was my day) and don’t feel perturbed if you don’t get it or don’t want to do it at the end of the book. I started with Montfort and couldn’t do it. Then I went to 33 Days and that prepared me to go back to Montfort. 33 Days didn’t get me to the point of making the consecration but did prepare me for understanding Montfort’s work on the subject.

The feast of Our Lady of My. Carmel (July 16) is a great day to do your consecration. I’ve used the Morning Glory book and liked it. There are plenty of others to choose from as well.

It’s good you’re doing this. Our Blessed Mother will always help you and will obtain all necessary graces if you but ask with the proper disposition.
