Boatbearer, you sure are doing a lot of complaining for someone who seems to know very little about Fr. Corapi. It seems you think the prices are outrageous. If this is because you are interested in going and cannot afford it then I suppose your feelings are a little understandable. But if you have no intention on going even if tickets were free, then you need to stop your complaining. Some people just feel it is their right to get angry about things that don’t even affect them. 🤷
Amen 👍

How do you know how much I know about Fr. John? Answer: You simply don’t.

I think the $37+/seat ticket fee sends a very nixed message at best.

Actually it’s you that needs to stop complaining. Take a look at my posts – I have been far less critical of Fr. John than others, although my postings (particularly the costing posting) might agitate some fans of Fr. John because it just might hit a bit too close to home.

You make the comment “Some people just feel it is their right to get angry about things that don’t even affect them.” I didn’t get “angry” — but you certainly did. Please take your own advice. 😉

No way. Particularly not if it was “stated to be such” in order to get a higher price. It could always be disclosed after the sale. I seriously doubt any buyer would be upset to learn that a rosary they had purchased had been blessed by a pope.
Charging a higher price WOULD be the sin of simony. I’m not talking about charging a higher price. Nor am I talking about people being upset, what on earth gave you that idea?

I’m saying if you know it’s a relic of John Paul II you would likely treat it differently to a common or garden rosary. You might wish NOT to keep it squashed in the bottom of your purse, nor pray with it 'til it’s worn out, for example. If you know it’s a relic of JP2 you might wish instead to donate it to a museum or something. In fact the Church greatly prefers that saintly relics be kept in appropriately dignified places rather than private houses.

All of which would affect, for a lot of people, whether they’d want to buy it in the first place. Some people wouldn’t want to buy a rosary that they’d feel uncomfortable using and would feel obliged to preserve as a holy relic of a man who is on the way to sainthood.

They might prefer to keep their money for another rosary that they would be able to use in prayer. So yes, the fact that it was blessed by JP2 ought to be disclosed before the sale. Not to get a higher price (again, what gave you that idea?) but so that it’s given appropriately respectful treatment.

Reluctantly greed…

The other thing that bugged me for a long time is Fr. John’s personal health. He clearly went though some sort of ordeal based on what he looked like in the past, what he looked like for quite a while and what he looks like today. Tons of speculation but never a note (that I saw) on his website or the sales e-mails he e-mails me bringing everyone up to date on his health status.

I do remember when he started his weekly speeches (via paid subscription) that he said he was unable to get around like he once did, hence the weekly lectures. It made me wonder why they simply weren’t uploaded to YouTube? It’s almost as if he wanted to fuel the speculation about his health…
Yes it seems that you do know alot about Fr. Corapi, enough to make assumptions about him (which is not very charitable btw). Second I am not angry, I am annoyed. If you think that Fr. Corapi is taking advantage of people, may I suggest that you write a letter to the promoters of the event to show your disgust. They may be able to break down the cost for you.
Who cares? 🤷 Is that supposed to somehow justify the $37.00/seat?
Yes you are right, I am the one who is angry hmmm with your oh so rude reply to me  I made the connection to show that you are complaining about the profit being made but the seats I paid for are $50 seats which would cost about $200 (same section) for any other concert being offered there. Also they are not selling tickets in the very high
sections therefore less tickets = higher price/ticket.

👍

You just seem to be in the post to just be the bee in everyone’s bonnet.

You seem to be quite angry. You’re also not telling the truth about me. I’ll be charitable and simply say that you are making plenty of ill-founded assumptions on your own.

Yes, that’s true – your postings to me have been rude.

One final point. I don’t care that the seats you paid $50.00 would have cost $200.00 for another event. It simply doesn’t apply to the comments I have made on this thread. You might believe it to be germane but it’s not. It’s a non-issue.
