So now one has to pay $37 plus convenience fees or any credit card fees that may apply for “outer ring seats?” The even even has its own website: fathercorapisa.com/tickets.html

Yeah, I know there are expenses with putting on such an event. But $37.00/seat + other fees? Sad. 😦

I cannot judge
what is the cost of renting the arena or hall, how many seats are there, divide and do the math. To the cost of the hall add all the other expenses, travel, sound system and engineers, and so forth. do the math. It is hardly fair to blame the speaker for the cost of credit card or ticket agency fees

Yeah by golly those COSTS! $37.00/ticket + fees! 😦

This is getting too close to televangelist territory for my comfort that’s for sure.

I can’t say I’m thrilled about paying for something that we should all be getting for free (or at least: for our tithes) in a homily at Mass.

I guess though it’s wishful thinking to expect that we’ll only ever get great homilies at Mass.

At least clergy and religious men and women to the Father Corapi Live event can get in for “only” $12.00/each.

The AT&T Center is an indoor arena located in San Antonio, Texas, USA. It seats 18,581 for basketball, 13,800 for hockey and 19,000 for concerts or religious gatherings, and contains 2,018 club seats, 50 luxury suites,

I don’t have much money so I don’t go to many places, but mindless movies are 11 bucks here, fringe seats at concerts here with student discounts is still $20-$45 and how many of them are even at the quality of what Fr. Coropi does. While the prices of other places do not determine the price of Fr. Coropi’s talk, but it should give some indication. What if function is actually very under priced. I do not know myself, but it is probably way under price for an ordinary speaker when we take into account expenses.

with 1000 of hungry kids in the world and in poverty i refuse to spend $37 on a ticket when its free on ewtn. with earthquake and people around the world this $37 would feed a family. sorry no deal for me God does not want me to feed the rich

plus he needs to make a living

I’d love to see him, but I’m on a tight budget and $37 is out of the question.

And I’ve already given up cable TV, so no watching him on EWTN either.

$37 for a day long seminar is cheap. I saw him in St Louis and it was a bargain.

You said it. It’s no different than musicians and other public speakers. Plus there’s logistics involved.

I’d like to know how much the costs of putting on the event is before casting too much judgment.

We are paying $35.00 for Fr. Mitch Pacwa. I guess he was on sale.

Personally…I’d pay alot more to see Fr Corapi in person so I think $37 is a bargain… but that’s just me. Yes, I’ve seen him on tv a hundred times… for free. Now, Im not comparing him to Mother Teresa, or PJPII, but I would have definitely opted to see either of them in person over watching them on television. Maybe someday someone will say to you something like: “wow, you actually saw Fr Corapi in person! How cool was that!”

Two years ago I paid to attend the Boston Catholic Men’s Conference and I admit a large part of what drew me there was to hear Jim Caviezel speak about his part in the Mel Gibson film. Also, let me apologize beforehand as I admit to being alittle starstruck by our “Catholic celebrities”. 👍

I know it’s true because the Church told me it’s true— the same Church that St Paul called the pillar and foundation of Truth. :harp:

You can watch EWTN on-line from their website.

I’d pay that in a heartbeat for good, sound, Catholic doctrine… actually I’d pay the higher amount just to get the best seats.

Too bad I live in Calgary, the cost of the drive and the motel is just too much for us because for us, it wouldn’t only be a one day event so we’d be losing several days of wages. I’m hoping that maybe someday one of these wonderful priests will come into my part of Canada… then I’ll even pay double the price 😃

My father-in-law and mother-in-law are coming with us to see Father Corapi; they like listening to him on the radio.

They are Protestant. They’re not only Protestant, they’re from denominations that are not exactly pro-Catholic.

If by some wonderful miracle, the Holy Spirit uses Father Corapi to bring my FIL and MIL home to the Catholic Church, I would say that is worth $74.

I’d pay it. In my mind, its no different than going to see my favorite musician live or a stage play. Sure I’ve listened to the musician’s cd a million times at home, but nothing beats seeing a favorite speaker, entertainer, etc live in person.

Amen. I’d gladly pay $37 for a day-long seminar given by that man. You know, at least, that you’re getting honest Catholicism and not watered-down modernist nonsense.

$37 is a steal, and he can’t host seminars for free. You pay more to go to a concert.
