I have never heard of any large or mainstream non-Catholic Christian group deny a Friday crucifixion. Can you be a little more specific about who you believe is denying a Friday crucifixion? Thanks.

When I became serious in researching the Catholic faith and tradition, I had to visit some non-Catholic websites to gain a perspective from other faiths. Maybe they are not large or mainstream, but they did take up alot of time nevertheless.

Some people propose a Thursday crucifixion:

Personally, I don’t believe the timing of the crucifixion was random. The timing was so impeccable it is another miracle from God. God was able to time the crucifixion to the exact hour of the lunar eclipse. I think that is another show of how awesome God is. Scientists and sceptics should be impressed.

That’s why I believe the crucifixion took place on Friday 3rd April 33 AD at 3:00 pm.

I would consider it I rmember reading somewhere that there was dark sky on a certain date recorded in Roman records, Ill see if I can look it up. I have not thought that thecrucifiction was a friday.

I think it is in ancient Greek records…

Phlegon Trallianus records in his history, Olympiades …:

“In the fourth year of the 202nd Olympiad [AD 32-33], a failure of the Sun took place greater than any previously known, and night came on at the sixth hour of the day [noon], so that stars actually appeared in the sky; and a great earthquake took place in Bithynia and overthrew the greater part of Niceaea,”

So, the year is consistent, but the exact date is not specified.

Jesus was crucified under Pontius Pilot’s rule on Friday 3rd April 33AD and rose again on the 3rd day on Sunday 5th April. Therefore, the world and time - thus not ending on December 21st 2012 - ending on 3rd April 2033

Does it really matter when he was crucified ,but that he WAS crucified?

It doesn’t matter that much; but by establishing an historical context, we can rebut those who deny HE was ever crucified at all.
