4 Esdras 4:1

Hello Everyone,

My mom is wondering about this bible (?) verse and whether or not it has anything to do with archangels. Also can anyone tell me in simple terms what “4 Esdras” is in the first place? I mean - does it contain a lot of errors, or is it just not biblical material.

At the end of the article on Esdras in the Catholic Encyclopedia, there is a section on IV Esdras. There is also a long paragraph on the Fourth Book of Esdras in the “Apocrypha of Jewish Origin” section of the article on Apocrypha.

Uriel is mentioned in the article on St. Raphael as the name of one of the seven “archangels” according to Jewish Apocrypha.

For those who don’t have 4 Esdras 4:1 handy, the RSV reads:
Then the angel that had been sent to me, whose name was Uriel, answered
