This trend is a tragedy, and soon we will see 75% of all children born out of wedlock. The point is not so much that these children weren’t aborted (which is of course always a good thing), but that they were concevied in the first place. We cannot go on forever accepting single motherhood as if it is a viable family rearing choice, just because it means that someone didn’t have an abortion. **It’s like our morals are held hostage, we must accept all of these babies because “at least they weren’t aborted.” The key predictor for happiness in life will soon be defined as whether your parents had a life-long marriage or not. **And a generation or two ago, this was not even an issue for 90% of the population. Out-of-wedlock childbirth is contributing to the demise of our society. We cannot afford to pay for these mothers and their children, and there are not enough people who can help them. Men must be responsible for their actions, even if they go to jail. Somewhere along the line someone must be held accountable for the rearing of these children. It’s an overwhelming problem. Our sick, lost culture is killing us, most especially the most vulnerable-unborn children. I look for a spiritual solution since this is fundamentally a spirtual problem. Many ethical problems here. I don’t even know how to sort it out.
