A lady and her husband in a nearby town just had a baby and she was 59. They were quite stunned. It was quite unexpected. But they are quite happy.
Good luck!

I wonder how old was St. Anne (The Virgin Maryās Mother)? I read that she was of great age as well.59???
I was surprised when one of my co-workers told me at her last doctorās visit there was a 52 year old there that was pregnant.
What a beautiful post!!! Thank you so much for posting this! There was an interesting quote ā a few posts up; I wonāt post it because the poster did not know the name of the person who said it, or if the words were right, but the sentiment was obvious:
āthe best gift parents can give to themselves is to have a child in their forties.ā
That literally made me laugh. I could not agree more.
I am the Dad to ten children, ranging from 25 to 8 months (yes, same wife; yes, we do have a TV). I have been the parent to an infant in my teens, my twenties, my thirties and now at 44. I am confounded and delighted at the difference.
My last baby was more than ten years ago; I was still in my thirties and we had a houseful of small children. I was constantly stopped in the store, the mall, anywhere in public and asked all sorts of personal questions. I felt like I was under the public magnifying glass 24 hours a day. My children had to be good or it reflected poorly on every large family. My children had to score highest, or achieve the most in home school or the institutional schooling advocates would have propaganda against our āsideā. Life was full of pressure.
Now, in my mid-forties, I had a tiny baby placed into my arms months ago. At first, I thought it would be more of the same, but quickly I found that it was totally different. My eldest children, several college graduates ā one of those married, are fine upstanding citizens. They have turned out splendidly. I could not be prouder. So, as I hold this tiny child, I know that the techniques that my wife and I employ work. I know that we will raise a strong child who is grounded in her faith, intelligent, competent and a good person.
What I didnāt realize was how much fun I would have. The stress is gone, the expectations are lifted. My pressure to impress outsiders is gone. I found myself walking through the store singing to her the other day. I simply enjoy being with her more than the others, not because of who she is and they were not, but because of who I am now. I am comfortable with myself and that translates to being a more laid-back father. Now, when it comes to child rearing, I will be the same firm believer in discipline, but Iāve lost all need to worry about what anyone else things, says or does. I am free. I can simply revel in the delight that is my baby girl. It is an experience that I was not expecting and one that I thank God for as often as I realize what is going on.
She wonāt have the same Dad as many of the others; I donāt have the energy I once did. Iām a much more quiet and relaxed person prone to quiet and solitary activities, but she will have a Dad who is comfortable having tea-parties in the front yard, picking her up and twirling her around and kissing her until she dissolves into giggles, dances around the living room, rolls on the grass as if there is nothing more important in life to do and just understands ā to an extent the younger me could not ā the miracle that is in front of him.
So, I agree with that quote, whomever it was who originally said it. If you are with child, I pray you will enjoy the new addition as much as I have.
I love it!Ghost man this is for you: http://www.catholicposters.com/shop/images/products/fullimages/684.jpg
Donāt keep us in suspenseāplease let us know, ok?Hi, The chance that I am pregnant is a very slim possibility, since I am 44, But I have only been late 3 times in my life for each of my 3 previous children. I have always been super regular. So now I am anywhere from 1 to 5 days late and have been sitting here today dreaming about being pregnant at my age.I have been looking at all the older mom sites or pregnant over 40 sites just for fun. Ok I am resisting taking a pregnancy test till next Saturday if my period hasnāt come yet. But I had to tell someone cause I am in an extremely good mood right so I am telling you people that I donāt know. Since I think all my friends will say just give it a few more days or wouldnāt believe me at this point. My oldest will be 21 on Wednesday Yikes and my youngest just turned 12. But it is cool to think about. I wouldnāt mind starting over. It has been on my mind all morning.
I figure it can only be three possibilities: one I miscalculated when I would get my period (I donāt think so), two I am becoming peri-menopausal and my periods for the first time in my life are becoming irregular, or three I am pregnant.
See what happens when you convert to Catholicism you become pregnant (sorry for the stereo type just joking!!) but I know that is how my MIL will look at it. LOL
Oh well I think if I do get my P in the next few days I have psyched my self up so much today that I will be a little disappointed.
