50TH Wedding Anniversary Mass Program / Booklet

Hi there,

I’m having a mass organised for my parents who will be meeting their 50th weeding anniversary in 3 weeks.

We have organised a mass to celebrate the occasion, and have decided to use the Sunday mass reading’s and gospel as the mass will be held on that next day, Monday… but I have of since been concerned off the relevance of them to the occasion, as they could turn out to be depressing. The reading’s will have to be relevant, and don’t know what to change them to!

Does anybody have a template I could use to create a program or booklet, or have any readings you think would be suitable,
I would greatly appreciate the help!

From the Roman Missal
“2. Anniversaries of Marriage
On marriage anniversaries especially the twenty-fifth and fiftieth anniversaries, the Mass of thanksgiving (page 922) may be celebrated with the following prayers, if a votive Mass is permitted.” (Roman Missal, Catholic Book Publishing Co., New York, 1985, page 851.)

This Mass “39. In Thanksgiving” has for the readings: “See Lectionary for Mass, nos. 881-885.”

In my edition of the Lectionary, from Australia, the readings for this Mass could be chosen from:
Old Testament Reading:
  1. 1 Kings 8:55-61
  2. Ecclesiasticus 50:24-26
  3. Isaiah 63:7-9
  4. Zephaniah 3:14-15
    New Testament Reading:
  5. 1 Corinthians 1:3-9
  6. Ephesians 1:3-14
  7. Colossians 3:12-17
    Gospel
  8. Matthew 7:7-11
  9. Matthew 11:25-30
  10. Mark 5:18-20
  11. Luke 1:39-55
  12. Luke 10:17-24
  13. Luke 17:11-19
  14. John 15:9-17
  15. John 16:20-22
There is also a choice of psalms in the Lectionary.
