54 Day Rosary Question - Not feeling it

I’m about 9 days away from finishing a 54 day Rosary novena. I’ve had a troubling couple of days and I’ve reflected on how I’ve been praying, and I am finding several faults. Most of all, I’m at a point where the decades have become just words.

I’ve done the Mary, Undoer of Knots novena previously, and loved it. It is incredibly powerful and it helped me in many, many ways. I feel I am in need of that kind of spiritual help now.

I know these are private devotions so there are no set rules, but could I substitute the 9 days of the Undoer of Knots novena for the remaining days of the 54 day? My heart is pulling me in this direction.

I don’t think your prayers are ever ‘just words’. They are heard no matter how you ‘feel’. I would stay with the 54 day novena.

I suppose you could. However, if it were me, I would challenge myself to stick with it.

I really enjoy saying the rosary along with a video on youtube. I like to do it in the car while driving (I turn the video on my phone). By the time I get where I am going I am done.
 
You can do whatever you find most edifying.
I find the 54 day difficult. I’m one who tend to want to see the light at the end of the tunnel…I guess I’m impatient, LOL

I really am feeling a pull to go to the Undoer of Knots Rosary. I think I am going to substitute it for the last days of the 54 day.
 
I know what you mean. I remember a retreat leader once telling me that doing spiritual practices at times of dryness and lack of consolation was a great grace, because doing things regardless of warm feelings was a sign of Faith - so be encouraged! 🙂
 
I don’t think we are told we need to feel everything, but I think prayers have, if anything, more value when we are tired, not feeling it. I would stick with the 54 days and then do the other after finishing.

We are called to faithfulness, not “feeling it”. You only have a few days left; finish the rosary novena and then start the other one.
 
I completely understand. I have been under attack for a while so sometimes I do not “feel” anything when doing prayers, but I believe God honors us for our effort. You should continue the devotion to honor Our Lady.

This was such great news to me today. I feel like I been praying like that for months now.
 
I think posters should know that when a young person says “I’m not feeling it” they don’t literally mean they are talking about feelings.
It’s an expression.
It means they don’t particularly want to partake of a particular thing.
It’s slang.

Denise…are you a young person? Apparently that makes a difference as to how we are to respond.
 
Is it different from distractions?

I understand feeling dry in prayer and continuing…but then there are constant distractions creeping in.
