No, you are directed by your feelings, which you have been trained by Mormonism to interpret as the Holy Ghost speaking to you. In Mormonism, feelings trump facts, logic, history, and common sense. But feelings are the worst way to confirm whether something is true or false, because feelings can so easily be manipulated, which the LDS church has down to a fine art.
Never mind that Joseph Smith pretended to find buried treasure to trick people out of their money, or that he married 14 year old girls, or that he married women who were already married to other men, or that he lied to his first wife about polygamy, or that the Book of Abraham scrolls have nothing to do with Abraham, or that the Book of Mormon has no real history in the New World, or that DNA shows the native Americans have no genetic links to people in Israel, etc., etc. etc. For LDS, feelings trump all of that.
Fortunately, thousands and thousands of LDS are seeing the truth that the entire thing is a fraud, and they are leaving not out of apathy, but because they realize they’ve been lied to for so long.
