Excellent firstmode! :clapping:
Thanks for posting this (the scripture about homosexuality). I teach my children what the Church teaches, But I also tell him that gay people are really to be pitied-- they have attractions that they cannot control and if they act on them, they are going against what the Bible says. I have many gay friends and truly just feel sorry for them. Compassion for them (and the people who support them) should be our #1 priority, I’d say.

I don’t think it’s anyone’s place to judge who is a practicing Catholic and who is not. Most people believe *something *that is contrary to church teaching. I also feel that no mother talks to a 6 year old as directly as was implied. I just can’t believe that any mom would talk about who can have sex with whom to a 6 year old. I can see parents saying to 6 year olds that sometimes 2 men get married or 2 women get married in order to try to explain the relationship, but I just can’t imagine the sex part being brought up. Please correct me if I’m wrong.
A practicing catholic parent would never say that two men or two women can get married. That point may certainly be judged as wrong. We can judge actions and exposing your child to what appears to be practicing homosexuality is wrong. Catholics may not morally support homosexual marriage. By doing so we sin.

What I should have said is that gay people can sometimes THINK they’re married to each other, but that it is wrong in God’s eyes. If you read the rest of my posts, you’ll see that I teach my children what the Church teaches. I can tell you though, when my 1st grader came home from Catholic school asking me to explain what gay meant, it was a challenge. I was just trying to put it in a way he would understand without having him think that gay people simply have friendships with each other. You try it sometime…

No one should be talking to a 6 year old about sex at all (of any kind)

My daughter has many friends that are homosexual. She has taught her young son that it totally acceptable for men to have sex with men and for women to have sex with women. When I talk to her about homosexuals, I tell her that they are called to a chaste lifestyle. She says that I am mean and how can I say people who love each other can never have sexual relations. My grandson has been taught to think this way too. Any suggestions on how to handle this? By the way, my daughter is a practicing Catholic who is raising her son to be Catholic.
Situation A- Married man falls in love with another woman.
Situation B- Priest falls in love with a woman.

By her logic, the man in both scenarios could sleep with the woman in question without sinning.
