That’s how many pages this Apologetics section had as of a few seconds ago when I looked at it! Kinda freaky . . . though it has to happen at some point . . . even one’s own post count.:o

It’s interesting how that number sticks in the mind. Even in people who don’t know a whole lot about the Book of Revelation or much of Scripture at all. It’s kind of a signpost for “really bad evil” and the Antichrist.

There are lots of things like that that as a culture we never fail to notice even if we would claim to be non-believers. Just as Jesus can’t be ignored by those who vehemently are against Him and everything He stood for.

And I would guess that’s why Jesus condemned the lukewarm ones the most. They just are oblivious. There may be more hope for the fiery opponents, because they could have a moment of recognition and repentance for their errors, whereas the lukewarm ones just tend to drift and drift…

I’m kind of drifting verbally myself, now . . . I believe it’s called rambling . . . 🤷

Something about the power of symbolism, though, struck me when I saw that 666.:twocents:

So true. I remember someone trying to imply that Ronald Wilson Reagan was the Antichrist - after all, his names each have 6 letters in them! :bigyikes:

if that is the case then he must be, but wait we are still here today so i guess he wasn’t :rotfl:

I used to be kind of superstitious about that number since I came from a Fundamentalist background. I grew up Southern Baptist and the church I attended was Dispensationalist. They Dispensationalists tend to be big on the whole “666 is the ‘Mark of the Beast’” type of thing. So yeah, sometimes when I see that number I raise my eyebrows because of that. I think sometimes I am just being superstitious though when a number bothers me. :o

Hello everyone.
yeah that number does catch my eye every now and then. I remember going to a feunaral (sp) home where the address was 666 vella rd. That one really cought my eye.
God bless

my cell phone number has many 6s in it but I am a very devout catholic it hasn’t affected me 👍

All my siblings and I have “666” as part of our social security number sequence–

I’m not at all superstitious about it now , but at one time in my wacka-doodle-doo-doo past, it did give me pause…

🙂

I also have a friend who is a little superstitious about the number 13. She tries to not have an amount of money come out to 13 for example. I guess it’s just a mild phobia - she doesn’t have a panic attack but she just prefers not to have any 13s in her life!

i hope she wasn’t to freaked out when she was 13

It’s just a number… There’s no reason to obsess over it or barricade yourself inside of your home waiting for a dragon to pop out of the sky and attack a floating pregnant woman… Jeez! 😛

I agree - objectively speaking. But this is actually a form of OCD, a mental illness, if it genuinely upsets a person. Like I said, my friend has it only mildly; she has other OCD issues which are more pronounced.

We need to gently correct people who are just “everday superstitous” from something they’ve picked up from the prevailing culture. And then we need to pray for people who suffer from genuine irrational fears. :gopray:

You better not shout. You better not cry. You better not pout I’m telling you why. Emperor Nero is coming to town.

just satan trying to mess with you the day before one of the most holiest of days on earth.

Actually, it should be the beast that riseth out of the sea like unto a leopard with his feet as the feet of the bear and his mouth as the mouth of a lion, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon the horns ten crowns, and upon his heads names of blasphemy, and a head that was as it were wounded to death yet was healed. 😃

You know, many people seem to think that six hundred and sixty-six is the ‘Devil’s number’, but Revelation 13 seems to make it clear that the Dragon and the Beast are two separate entities. 😃
