Well, the seven deadly sins are:
  1. Pride (Proverbs 3:34)
  2. Greed (1 Timothy 6:10)
  3. Gluttony (Proverbs 23:20-21)
  4. Lust (Matthew 5:28)
  5. Envy (Exodus 20:17)
  6. Sloth (Ecclesiastes 10:18)
  7. Wrath/Anger (Matthew 5:22)
God bless,

David

This is from the Catechism of the Catholic Church:
1866 Vices can be classified according to the virtues they oppose, or also be linked to the capital sins which Christian experience has distinguished, following St. John Cassian and St. Gregory the Great. They are called “capital” because they engender other sins, other vices.138 They are pride, avarice, envy, wrath, lust, gluttony, and sloth or acedia.
Take some time to read through this article from the Catholic Encyclopedia if you want to learn more about sin and how we Catholics define certain types. This is a link to the New Advent website where you can find the article.

You might also want to look up “cardinal virtues” and “works of mercy” to have something positive and constructive to work on.

God will certainly bless all those who seek to do His Will and to live a life of virtue. God bless you!

I read sometimes a conscience examination from the 16th Century. These were considered the mortal sins, not the actual action: these are habits which keeps one away from God.

The Seven Deadly Sins and the Opposite Virtues
  1. Pride…Humility
  2. Covetousness…Liberality
  3. Lust…Chastity
  4. Anger…Meekness
  5. Gluttony…Temperance
  6. Envy…Brotherly love
  7. Sloth…Diligence
Thanks for this list! I had forgotten some of the virtues!
