Hi all!
I was wondering: To be enrolled to the 7 sorrows scapular, can the parish priest do this? Also are there any places in the UK I’d be able to find one of these? I’ve had a look and they seem fairly rare! Also, does enrolment require joining a third order, I only ask because this one seems particularly attached to the Servites?

Thanks for your time!

I was invested in the black scapular of the Seven Sorrows of Mary years back via the Five Fold scapular by my mothers parish priest, but I was enrolled officially in the Confraternity of Our Lady of Sorrows in September of last year. I am not a Third Order Servite, but through the Confraternity I am united with them in their devotion to Mary and other benefits that membership in the Confraternity bestows.

The black scapular of the Seven Sorrows of Mary is fairly hard to find, but they are available. The Servites recommend that you enroll in the Confraternity before you wear one. Once you do, they will send you a Certificate of Enrollment, the Seven Sorrows chaplet, a Servite prayerbook and… the beautiful scapular with Our Lady of Sorrows on the front and a 13th century rendition of the Pieta on the reverse. Unfortunately, I don’t know where you would find a Servite community where you live, but perhaps you could write to one of the motherhouses here.
