75 years!!!!!

DH grandparents are celebrating their 75th Wedding Anniversary this coming August! :extrahappy: The wonderful thing is they are still both healthy, VERY happy and love each other dearly!!!

My grandfather passed away a few months before their 50th Anniversary.

I am just wondering if anyone else has had family or friends married for over 50 years or even over 75 years?

My grandparents celebrated 62 or 63 years (can’t remember which) this past January. Sadly my grandfather has Alzheimer’s so he didn’t realize it.

DH’s grandparents were married 60-some years too before DH’s grandmother died last year.

My parents will celebrate 35 years this year – I know that’s not 60, but hey, it’s pretty good! I pray DH and I will follow in all of their footsteps.

I think every year is WONDERFUL, DH and I are at 3 years so far.
I would have to live till I was 109 and DH would be 117 for us to reach 75 years, don’t see that happening.

I’d have to live to 99 and DH to 100 to make it 75 years, so it’s possible

I agree, every year is wonderful. It’ll be 5 in June!

My paternal grandparents are right at 67 years…

My maternal grandparents were only married for 6 years before my grandfather’s death.

My parents have been married almost 29 years.

DH and I are almost to the 1 year mark!

To reach 75 years, DH will be 105 and I’ll be tripping around him at 97…

My maternal grandparents were married just a couple months shy of 62 years before he passed away four years ago. We all miss him so much, especially my dear grandma.

My grandparents made it a year or two past 50 before he died.

DH’s parents are up to 35 next year!

May parent 60th anniversary would have been this past December. Unfortunately, my father passed away in October.

75 years is awesome!

My aunt and uncle, and grandparents must have been in the 55+ year range, not sure of exact dates, but they are in their 80s and prob married around 20. Man, a long time!
And this Oct. would have been 40 years for my parents, they had 34 years together on earth before my mom died. :heaven:

Both my husbands and my parents have been married over 50 years. I don’t see my husbands parents making it to 60 though because of health reasons, one or both of them are bound to die in the next four or five years . Now my parents, their health problems are not life threatening so they might make it to 60 years, they might not. My dad is 8 years older than my mom so there is that to take into consideration.

My husband and I are approaching our 30th, my sister and her husband will be celebrating their 34th this May.

But 75 years, wow, is all I can say. Some married young enough and are healthy enough to live long enough to do this and have survived the trials and tribulations as well as the utter joy s of marriage are a wonderful example to the rest of us!

My grandparents almost made it to 60 years. I think they were married in 1948 or 1949…I know my mom was born in '55 and she was the fifth child of 13, so…

My dear grandma passed away in January (miss her terribly ) and I don’t think Grandpa even realizes she’s gone. According to my aunt and uncle that he lives with, he still “talks” to her in bed at night and tells her to scoot over, lol! Oh well, I guess it’s better for him that he doesn’t understand.

Ok, I just checked her obituary and it says 58 years. So, 58 years, 13 kids, 32 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Now THAT’S a life!

Hey wait a minute. The same thing happened to my great-aunt. Your grandmother isn’t a Kramer is she? Of the Minn Kramer’s? I would fall off my chair if I found out we are related.

It’s entirely possible, my grandma is one of 16 in an old German-Catholic family.

DH’s grandpa was 23 when they married (will be 98 April 16th ) and grandma was 21 (is now 96).

Nope, she was a Stoskopf. I think I’d remember if you were my cousin, KC! That would be cool. But I’m the ONLY one in my family that’s Catholic (I converted 6 yrs ago).
