St. Louis is a beautiful church, but is it older than Nombre de Dios in St. Augustine? It is a very small church and the history is so interesting.
I dont’ know.is it older than Nombre de Dios in St. Augustine?
That would be GREAT to attend. There’s also the San Antonio Missions which still have masses!
Sorry, but San Miguel Mission in Santa Fe, New Mexico, is not only the oldest Catholic church in the United States, it is the oldest church of any denomination on the continental US. San Miguel was built between 1610 and 1626, a full century before St Louis in New Orleans.Or the oldest Catholic Church of the US in New Orleans. St. Louis
From what I could find about Nombre de Dios, the current building was built in 1875, the original having been destroyed by the British in 1728. So while the mission site itself is thought to be the first Catholic mission site in the US, the church itself is actually relatively new.St. Louis is a beautiful church, but is it older than Nombre de Dios in St. Augustine? The photos of it are simply beautiful. Thanks for drawing our attention to Nombre de Dios Mission.Thank you for researching this. Whatever it’s age, the mission rebuild is an inspiring place.
The key to new public buildings in Los Angeles they have to be built to withstand earthquakes as well as sharknados, the heavy duty concrete can help withstand both of those possible catastrophes. I think the architects were successful in making it look like something with those restrictions. The Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels!
